I had wanted to try some Makeup Revolution products for a while because I had read lots of blogs and the reviews were always really good. I was skeptical because their products are so cheap.
I did look at their counter in Superdrug but its massive and I don’t know if I was just not in the right mood, or if there was just too much choice, I somehow left without buying anything (this is not like me at all).
So I went online a week later to the TAM Beauty site. I particularly wanted an eyeshadow palette (or two) so started browsing the products.
I had already seen the Fortune Favours the Brave palette advertised and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I also ordered two more palettes, a highlighter and an eyeshadow brush.
All of this was £22.13 including delivery !!! (This includes a 20% discount code)
When the items arrived a few days later I was really intrigued to see what the products were like because they were so unbelievably cheap.
First of all I was really surprise how nice the packaging was so this made me happy because, as you know, I love nice packaging. All the palettes have nice big mirrors and some have applicators too.
This is the Make Up Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave palette.
Now I have tried all three palettes, this is probably my favourite. It has a nice range of 30 matte and shimmer shades which are in a lovely gold palette. It has a double ended brush which is not brilliant, but still useful. This was the most expensive item I ordered at £9.99.
The eyeshadows are easy to apply and blend really well. They are a bit “talcy” but for £9.99 I am really impressed with this palette.
This is the Freedom Pro Artist Ultimate Mattes which has 32 matte shades.
This is a nice palette too, many of the shades are a bit light for me but I will definitely use the darker shades. No applicator with this one but it only costs £4 so I can’t really complain!
This is the Freedom Todays Tonight Pro Decadence Palette.
This has 20 shades which are a mixture of Matte and Pearl. It comes with a double ended sponge applicator. I am not keen on this sort of applicator so I probably wont use it. This was £3!!
All of these eyeshadows are amazing value for money. They are not the best quality but I do really like them. They apply well, blend easy and last all day without the need to re-apply. What else do you really need from an eyeshadow?
I ordered a brush too. This is the Revolution E103 Eyeshadow Blending Brush.
This is great for blending and at £1.99 is again, amazing value for money. I have not washed it yet so not sure how it washes but the hairs all seem very secure, no moulting so I am sure it will wash fine.
The final product I got is the Revolution Skin Kiss Peach Highlighter.
I have been looking for a pretty peach blush / highlighter for ages now and can’t seem to find the perfect one so thought I would try this.
It comes in a nice rose gold compact which again, has a mirror. It claims to be highly pigmented which, I have to be honest, I don’t agree with. It’s quite a subtle highlight and the colour is more pink than peach. I do still like this and wear during the day when I want a more subtle highlight and its very pretty.
This was £5.
To summarize my TAM beauty order, I am very impressed. All of these products are amazing value for money. I highly recommend trying them.
