Smashbox Spotlight Palette

After trying lots of different highlighters, I now can say that I prefer powder highlighters to liquid or cream ones. I just think they are easier to apply and you don’t have to worry about them removing or lifting your makeup that s underneath.

I was admiring my friends highlighter recently and she said it was from her Smashbox Spotlight Palette. My Gerrard Cosmetics highlighter was almost empty, So I decided to get one.

This palette is a collaboration with beauty YouTuber – Cassey Holmes and she has done a little leaflet which is inside the box showing how and were to apply,  depending on the look you want to achieve.

The Palette is great quality with a large mirror in the lid. There are three different highlighters –

Turn it on pearl - a champagne colour, subtle highlight
Crank it up pearl - more of a gold shade, but still nice and subtle
Blow a fuse pearl - a rose gold shade which is more intense and glittery

I really like all of these shades. I tend to wear the first two more often when I want a subtle glow but the Blow a fuse shade is great for full on glow for nights out.

You do get a lot of fall out from these powders, but that’s the only thing I can fault about this palette.

The shades are all buildable and I also use them as eyeshadow and inner corner eye highlight.

Have you tried this? Whats your favourite highlighter?
